Activities and Competitions

Co Curricular Activities

All activities and competitions form an inherent part of the school curriculum. They help develop the overall personality of the students and bring out their hidden talents. They develop in the students a sense of keen responsibility, a systematic approach to work, a logical and analytical mind, leadership qualities and true sportsmanship.

Activities at SFS are divided into the following:

  1. Inter House Activities: The entire student body of SFS is divided into four houses namely Kingfisher, Parakeet, Peacock and Skylark. Various competitions are organised to promote a healthy competitive sprit among the students. Activities are selected from the following areas:
    1. Art

    4. Drama
    5. Dance
    6. Poetry
    7. Story Telling
    8. Music
    9. Computers
    10. Sports
    11. Quizzes
    12. Public Speaking
    13. News Reading
    14. Calligraphy

  2. Inter School Activities: Students participate in various inter school activities. The school also hosts a number of such events through the course of the year.
  3. Workshops / Seminars / Talks: These are organised for teachers and students to keep them abreast with the latest developments in the field of education and increase their awareness in areas of health and hygiene, environment, prevalent professions and stress management. Class XII students are exposed to various career counselling sessions.
  4. Trips: Groups of students from all classes, escorted by teachers, are sent to places of interest in Delhi and other parts of the country. Such educative trips are to enhance awareness and knowledge of the Indian culture and heritage among the students. The school provides opportunities for the students to learn from the pristine beauties of nature and be environmentally conscious of their surroundings. The field visits and educational excursions also develop in them a sense of adventure and achievement and at the same time they become confident and independent.
